The weekend off your wild heart craves.
In September, Mother Wild returns to a beautiful, wildflower-filled Herefordshire woodland to retreat into nature – and into yourself – for a weekend of all that is creative, natural, soulful and wild.
Update: we weren’t able to gather in June due to restrictions so most of our group have transferred to our September date – however, a few spaces have opened up for new bookings. If you need a retreat after these crazy few months dear Mama, now is your chance.
Together we will retreat, craft, forage, make, sit, stretch, rest, dream, eat, and be.
Nestled in 17 acres of woodland, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our retreat of beautiful yurts and tipis awaits. Have one all to yourself, share with a friend or two or room in with a soon-to-be new friend. Wood-fired hot tubs steam underneath the tree canopy, hammocks swing gently between trees, the campfire beckons and the kettle sings from the camp kitchen, where delicious plant-based food is produced all weekend long.
Press pause on the busy-ness of the everyday and retreat into the healing arms of nature. Feel the warmth of a tribe of like-minded mothers and remember the familiar wholeness of you being there for yourself.
Come… nurture your spirit, ignite your creativity and ground yourself in nature on our Mother Wild retreat to the woods.

Questions?
Is the retreat for me?
Our beautiful retreat is open to any and all mums who feel the pull to come. Can you swing a couple of nights away to join us? You are invited. We would so love to have you.
I want to come but I’m nervous – reassure me?
Of course! This will be a warm and friendly group of between 15 and 20 fellow mums who, like you, give a lot on a daily basis and are due a break. We have all kinds of lovely things planned and you’ll be well looked after with creative and mindful workshops, plenty of tea and nourishing food. And, in and amongst the lovely things, there’ll be space for quiet and rest if you need it. We intend to wave you back to your family rested, recharged and inspired.
I’m exhausted right now – will I have the energy?
You’ll be in good company. Just come as you are, in all your tiredness, and don’t give a second’s thought to what you’ll wear or whether you’ll have the energy. You do not have to be your sparkliest self with your wittiest conversation. We’re all mums. We all know. This is a space for you to just come as you are and be however you feel. Take part in whatever you want to and take time out whenever you need it.
Do I need to bring food?
We’ll be serving a combination of catered wholefood and campfire-cooked food throughout the retreat. Nourishing and delicious, plant-based meals prepared with love and with your wellbeing in mind. Bring some snacks if you want to, but we’ve got meals covered.
Can I bring my children?
Sorry, not this time. Mother Wild is a weekend retreat for mums to rest, recharge and re-wild. If you’re looking for something for your whole family, watch this space; we’re dreaming up other events and collaborations for the future.
What’s included?
In your lovely yurt or tipi, you’ll have a comfy camp bed made up with crisp linen, duvets and cosy blankets in which to rest your tired bones. Single occupancy Tipis have a king sized bed to spread out in, Yurts shared as a twin have two double beds and triple or dorm-style Yurts have 3 or 4 single beds. Every yurt and tipi has it’s very own wood-burning stove and fluffy sheepskins on the floor so you’ll be warm and cosy whatever the weather. All scheduled sessions, workshops and materials are included, as is use of the wonderful wood-fired hot tubs. Nourishing food is lovingly prepared in the camp kitchen and is all included, plus a tea station for hot drinks on tap. The only things we charge extra for is a reflexology treatment if you’d like to book one during the retreat (approx. £25) and there is an option to book and stay a 3rd night if you’d like to (see booking page for info).
What facilities are there?
There are compost loos close to each yurt and tipi and lovely warm showers. We’ll have a wonderful camp kitchen at the heart of the camp, tented workspace and seating spaces in which to gather and workshop whenever we need shelter or shade, plus bunting and fairy lights galore under the canopy of trees. Oh, and did we mention the hammocks and wood-fired hot tubs?
How will I find the camp?
By car: Once you’ve booked we’ll send you full, easy-to-follow directions to our camp, located between Ross-on-Wye and Hereford in beautiful Herefordshire.
By train: We’ll arrange a pick-up from Hereford station for those coming by train. For simplicity, we’ll arrange one pick-up time.
Do I need to be skilled at crafts to take part in the workshops?
No. All the things we make across the weekend will be simple and suitable for all. What’s more, they’ll be enjoyable and relaxing to do. You’ll head home with a collection of lovely things you made with your own hands.

“As a mother of a very young child, it was my first time away from her overnight and I left home with a real mix of emotions and some apprehension. I knew I needed a proper break and to just do something for myself. On arrival at the camp, Lisa and all of the other women there were so warm and welcoming, that I felt instantly at ease in everyone’s company. I remember sitting in the warm sun on that first afternoon, chatting with women who I’d only met a few hours before yet it felt like we’d known each other for years, a hot cup of herbal tea in hand, feeling like I could just breathe and relax. It was the first time in over two years that I felt myself, I wasn’t just a mother in that moment. The Mother Wild retreat was the best gift to myself. It gave me space to rest, think, learn, connect with other women, and most importantly, reconnect with myself as a new mother lost in the haze of raising a young child. I’m so grateful to Lisa for dreaming up this retreat and making it happen.”

“I keep sniffing my hair because it smells of wood smoke and gazing at my beautiful henna. Thank you each and every one of you for such a beautiful couple of days.”

“I can’t thank you enough for having the vision to create Mother Wild and for making it such an awe inspiring, restful, peaceful retreat. All the little touches and thoughtful details, the schedule and delicious food were so amazing. It was a fabulous weekend and one which I will always remember with warmth in my soul. A massive thank you. If you knew the dates for next year I would be booking already.”
